Speaking to Variety India, Soham Shah said, “We narrated the story to her, and she read the script. She immediately said yes. She loved the script, so the entire process was very smooth. She’s very dedicated and professional. The entire process with her was smooth and easy.” Soham also praised Alia’s understanding and business acumen. He said that during their first meeting, Alia asked some questions about the story, which showed that she understood the film’s nuances well.

‘In just two meetings Alia Bhatt was signed’

The actor said, “She’s very intelligent. As good as she is as an actor, I think she has an equally good business sense. When we went to meet her, she asked some very important questions. I don’t remember exactly what she asked, but she listened to the story and read the script within two or three days. After that, we met again. In just two meetings, Alia Bhatt was signed for the film!”

Alia already knew about Tumbbad

Actor and producer Soham Shah also revealed that Alia was already aware of the film “Tumbaad” and liked its story. According to him, Alia agreed that the 2018 fantasy horror film is often seen simply as a horror film, but its story is much more than that. “Tumbaad” will complete eight years of release on October 12th, while its sequel is expected to release in December 2027.
