Bengaluru: A man residing in Bengaluru has filed an FIR against his wife. The complaint levels several serious allegations against her and her family members, including forcible eviction from the home and harassment. The husband alleges that his wife used to show him obscene videos and demand that he engage in similar acts. She even went so far as to force her husband to engage in sexual relations with one of her female friends.
The husband claims that, ever since their marriage, his in-laws have constantly interfered in their marital life. This interference led to frequent arguments and conflicts between him and his wife. The 37-year-old man is a resident of Nagarabhavi and had married 31-year-old Shilpa some time ago.
In the FIR lodged at the police station, the husband claimed that his wife Shilpa’s mother—his mother-in-law—is preventing him from entering the house. She is reportedly pressuring him to divorce his wife so that Shilpa can be married off to another man. According to reports, the man has also accused his father-in-law of threatening him.
What did the husband allege?
The husband stated that his wife used to mock his financial situation and subjected him to severe mental harassment. Furthermore, she would spend her time with wealthy friends and lived a lifestyle characterized by partying and alcohol consumption. The man also alleges that his wife subjected him to sexual harassment; she would send him obscene videos and demand that he replicate the acts depicted in them. Additionally, the wife reportedly has ex-boyfriends with whom she continued to maintain relationships even after her marriage.
When was the husband evicted from his home?
The husband alleges that he was evicted from his home approximately a year and a half ago—in September 2024. He was able to retrieve only a few personal belongings at the time. Valuables worth nearly ₹1.75 lakh—including cash, as well as gold and silver jewelry (specifically a 44-gram choker, a 35-gram gold chain, an 18-gram gold bracelet, among other items)—remain locked inside the house. Moreover, the couple’s wedding photographs and videos were also forcibly deleted. Meanwhile, the wife has also filed a counter-FIR against her husband, leveling serious allegations. The police have commenced an investigation into the matter.
