New Delhi: Will Alberta secede from Canada? A referendum on this question is scheduled for Tuesday. Meanwhile, a survey has created a stir from the Canadian capital, Ottawa, to the US capital, Washington. According to a Global News and Ipsos survey, 7 out of 10 Albertans would vote to remain with Canada. This means that the number of people who support splitting Canada into two parts is around 30 percent.

This is being considered a blow to America, because since becoming President, Donald Trump has made many controversial statements regarding Canada.

What’s in Alberta’s new survey?

Seventy percent of those surveyed said they favored remaining in Canada in the event of a referendum. Thirty percent said they wanted Alberta to become a separate country. Twenty-seven percent of men surveyed said Alberta should separate.

In Alberta’s two largest cities, Calgary and Edmonton, only 31 percent supported the referendum. This means that the people of these two cities also want to remain in Canada.

In terms of age, the highest number of people who support splitting Canada into two are those between the ages of 27 and 35. 27 percent of those in this age group said Alberta should be separated into a new country.

Eighty-one percent of those surveyed said they would vote and were fully informed about the issues. However, a majority of those surveyed were unhappy with the Canadian government on issues of immigration and immigration.

What does the government say?

According to Alberta Premier Daniel Smith, a vote will first be held to determine whether a referendum is necessary. If people support it, then we will move forward with the process.

Canada is working tirelessly to prevent Alberta from seceding. Prime Minister Mark Carney himself is reaching out to the public to help. In this effort, the Canadian Prime Minister has reached out to Indians. More than 30,000 Indians live in Alberta.
