In Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, a woman named Archana jumped from the roof of a two-story house after being harassed by her in-laws. The shocking 38-second video of the incident has gone viral on social media. Archana, who is now out of danger in the hospital, has been married to Sonu for six years, and the couple has two children. Her brother, Ankit Kumar, said that since her marriage, Archana was repeatedly harassed by her husband, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law over dowry demands, including five lakh rupees in cash and a Bullet motorcycle.
Husband instigated her to jump
In addition, Ankit alleged that brother-in-law Pramod had bad intentions toward Archana, and when she complained about it, she was harassed even more. Distressed by the continuous harassment from her in-laws, Archana climbed to the roof of the two-story house. During this, her husband Sonu instigated her to jump and said, “Jump.” The other members of the in-laws’ family remained spectators and taunted her.
Finally, Archana jumped from the roof. After falling on the ground, she was seriously injured and writhing in pain. Despite this, Sonu started beating her mercilessly. A neighbor recorded the entire incident on video, which has now gone viral on social media. During the incident, Archana’s children screamed loudly, and chaos ensued in the surroundings. Archana was immediately admitted to the district hospital.
Police have begun investigating the incident
Archana is now out of danger. CO Iglas, Mahesh Kumar, stated that based on a complaint from Archana’s parental family, a case has been registered against husband Sonu, father-in-law Prempal, mother-in-law Nehni Devi, brother-in-law Pramod, and sister-in-law Durgesh Devi. The police have started investigating the incident. This incident has caused widespread outrage among local people and on social media. People are demanding strict action.
