Vrindavan: A temporary women’s police post has been established at the Government Children’s Home for Girls in Chaitanya Vihar, Vrindavan, to strengthen security for the girls living there. Senior Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar has ordered the deployment of three women police personnel to oversee security arrangements at the facility.
Additional Security After August Incident
The decision follows the killing of a girl at the children’s home on August 21, 2026, which highlighted the need for stronger protection for the other residents.
In response, the police administration decided to establish a dedicated women’s police post inside the premises. The move is intended to improve monitoring and ensure that police assistance is available more quickly whenever an emergency arises.
Who Has Been Assigned to the New Police Post?
Under the new arrangement, Woman Sub-Inspector Smriti Panwar has been appointed as the in-charge of the temporary post. Constables Neha and Garima have also been deployed there.
All three personnel are attached to Vrindavan police station and will be responsible for security duties at the girls’ home.
Orders Issued to Implement Arrangements Immediately
According to the order issued by the SSP on October 16, the concerned officials were directed to implement the arrangements with immediate effect.
The District Probation Officer has also been instructed to provide a room within the children’s home premises for the functioning of the police post.
The dedicated deployment is expected to strengthen security monitoring at the facility and help ensure a prompt police response in case of any emergency.
