Ten tribal youths from a remote village in Chhattisgarh have successfully passed the SSC and state police constable exams after getting two years of coaching from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) troops working in anti-Naxal areas. The inspiring achievement comes from the Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district in the southwest part of the state near the Maharashtra border.
ITBP’s Guidance and Support
This area is affected by Maoist violence and lies close to the Left Wing Extremism-hit Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra, as well as Rajnandgaon, Bastar, and Kanker districts in Chhattisgarh. Around two years ago, the 27th ITBP battalion’s company operating base (COB) in Aundhi village, about 200 km from Raipur, started guiding local tribal youth. The team provided them with career counselling and physical training to help them prepare for competitive exams.
Hard Work and Success
The young men, aged between 23 and 25 years, showed strong dedication and worked hard under the supervision of ITBP instructors. Their effort paid off as they cleared both the written and physical tests held by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and the Chhattisgarh state recruitment board for police constables, a senior official said.
