New Delhi, Three people, including a law student and a boxer, were injured when they were stabbed during an attempted robbery in Amar Colony, southeast Delhi, officials said on Sunday. The incident happened around 10.15 PM on Saturday after a PCR call informed police that some men tried to rob someone and attacked him with a knife. “The caller also said that locals had caught two of the suspects,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Hemant Tiwari said in a statement.

Attack during robbery

Police said the victim, Mithoo, was returning home when he was pushed from behind near Sheetla Mata Mandir. “Four men surrounded him, held him, beat him, and took his mobile phone. When he cried for help, nearby residents came to his aid. “During the fight, one of the men stabbed Mithoo and two others—20-year-old Bhavishya, also known as Nakul, a first-year LLB student, and Taksh, a boxer,” the DCP added.

The injured were immediately taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre for treatment. Mithoo suffered cuts and scratches, Nakul had a stitched cut on his thigh, and Taksh received a cut on his buttock.

Suspects caught, search continues

Locals overpowered two of the attackers, identified as Akaash, also called Baccha, from Gadhi village who had a prior theft case, and a 16-year-old juvenile from Okhla. Both were handed over to police, the DCP said.

While these two were caught, two others managed to escape, and police are trying to find them. Akaash has been formally arrested, and procedures under the Juvenile Justice Act are being followed for the minor. Both have undergone medical check-ups. A case has been registered at Amar Colony police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police are investigating and conducting raids to locate the remaining suspects. Authorities also confirmed the backgrounds of the injured, noting that Nakul had played school-level football in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, the DCP said.
