New Delhi: The protest in New Delhi demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is set to continue on Tuesday. Late on Monday night, Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke said the protesters would not withdraw their plan to march towards Parliament and would continue their sit-in at Jantar Mantar.
After the clashes on Monday, the protesters again reached Jantar Mantar, where they prepared temporary tents and stages and resumed their agitation. Earlier, information about the removal of the stage present there by the police had come to light.
What did Abhijit Dipke say?
Addressing the protesters, Abhijit Dipke said that their agitation will continue until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns from his post. He made it clear that the protesters will not leave Jantar Mantar and will again march towards Parliament on Tuesday.
This movement has been going on at Jantar Mantar since June 6. The movement started over issues related to the education system. During this time, educationist and social worker Sonam Wangchuk was also sitting on an indefinite hunger strike. Later, he was taken into custody and sent to Safdarjung Hospital.
When will the next steps be announced?
Party leaders say that the strategy of the movement is being discussed continuously. An official statement will soon be issued giving information about further action. They say that the protests will not end until the demands are met.
