New Delhi: Heavy rainfall has triggered widespread disruption across several parts of the country, with Kerala bearing the brunt of the downpour. Continuous rain has worsened the flood situation in the state, while Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh have witnessed pleasant weather conditions. The India Meteorological Department has issued heavy rainfall warnings for several regions. So far, six people have died in floods and landslides in Kerala, while six others are still reported missing.

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in 8 districts – Idukki, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod. There may be very heavy rains here. There is water in South and Central Gujarat also. Waterlogging at many places in Surat, Navsari, Bharuch, Tapi, Kheda, Anand. At some places, it rained 400 to 600 mm in 24 hours. 27 thousand people were shifted to safe places. The army evacuated the people trapped in Surat.

The impact of floods in Assam has reduced slightly. The number of affected people has now reached 1.78 lakh. 7 districts are still submerged. There were no new deaths in the last 24 hours. So far, 82 people have died. Relief material is being delivered.
