New Delhi: Security arrangements are tight regarding the CJP protest in the capital Delhi. Amidst the possibility of protests in New Delhi area, Delhi Cantt Traffic Circle took charge from 6 am in the morning to maintain the smooth traffic system at the airport and its related major routes. The effect of the promptness and constant monitoring of the traffic police was that according to the released updates, the traffic from Delhi Cantt area to Dhaula Kuan Gurugram to Dhaula Kuan, from Vasant Vihar to IGI Airport and from Dhaula Kuan to the airport remained normal.
While the security agencies are on alert amidst the sounds of protests, the entire emphasis of the traffic police is to ensure that the common citizens, passengers going to the airport and people traveling daily do not have to face unnecessary jams. Efforts are being made to keep the traffic orderly through monitoring of roads, deployment of policemen at major intersections and constant patrolling.
Traffic team hit the road from 6 in the morning
Under the supervision of Additional CP Traffic Dinesh Kumar Gupta, about 15 traffic policemen have been deployed at major places on behalf of Delhi Cantt Traffic Circle under the leadership of Traffic Inspector Satya Prakash. To assist them, two motorcycle patrol teams have also been deployed which are monitoring the traffic situation on different routes. Policemen are standing alert at their designated places so that if the pressure of vehicles increases at any place, necessary steps can be taken immediately.
Delhi Cantt Circle Traffic Inspector Satya Prakash himself is continuously patrolling in a government vehicle. During this time, along with taking stock of the situation of the deployed policemen, he is also monitoring the traffic control arrangements. Their special focus is on those routes from where vehicles coming from Airport Gurugram and South-West Delhi proceed towards New Delhi area.
In view of the CJP protest, special attention is being paid to the roads leading to Sardar Patel Marg from Gurugram and Indira Gandhi International Airport. This route leads to the New Delhi area where security arrangements have been made for the protest. In such a situation, the priority of the traffic police is to maintain security and ensure that normal traffic is not affected.
Traffic was also reported to be normal at the check point from Dhaula Kuan towards Sardar Patel Marg. Monitoring is going on by the police, so that the movement of vehicles remains orderly during the security check and unnecessary pressure on the road does not increase.
Traffic normal on these major routes
According to information received from Delhi Cantt Traffic Circle, vehicular movement remained normal from Janakpuri and Delhi Cantt area to Dhaula Kuan via Station Road. Traffic from Gurugram towards Dhaula Kuan was also said to be smooth. Meanwhile, passengers going from Vasant Vihar to IGI Airport via RTR route were also informed about normal traffic.
Apart from this, traffic also remained normal on the route from Dhaula Kuan to IGI Airport. Information was given about the smooth movement of vehicles from Dhaula Kuan to the check point on Sardar Patel Marg. These updates currently indicate that no major jam or heavy traffic disruption was reported due to the protest on major routes falling under Delhi Cantt Traffic Circle.
The main objective of the traffic police system is to provide safe and smooth travel to the passengers going to the airport, employees reaching the offices and other drivers. For this, along with deployment on major routes, continuous patrolling and assessment of traffic situation is being done. Policemen have been given the responsibility to remain alert at their respective designated places and control the traffic as per need.
According to Delhi Cantt Traffic Circle, till the latest update, there was no information about gathering of any large crowd in its area nor was there any information about jam or heavy traffic pressure. However, keeping in view the circumstances related to the protest, police deployment and monitoring has been continued, so that immediate action can be taken as per any change in the situation. At present, traffic from Delhi Cantt to Dhaula Kuan and Airport is reported to be normal. Amidst the alertness of the traffic police, the message is clear, safety is important, the journey continues.
