East Delhi: Encroachment, traffic congestion and unregulated parking were among the key public concerns discussed at a police station committee meeting held at Jagatpuri Police Station in Delhi’s Krishna Nagar Assembly constituency. MLA Dr Anil Goyal led the meeting, urging officials to take effective steps to address residents’ everyday problems.

Why Are Residents Facing Traffic Problems?

Committee members expressed concern over growing encroachments around markets and major roads, saying these reduce available road space and disrupt the movement of vehicles. They also highlighted how inadequate parking facilities lead to vehicles being parked along roadsides, further worsening congestion.

The meeting focused on identifying practical solutions to these issues, alongside measures to improve law and order in the area. Members called for coordinated action by the relevant authorities to ease traffic movement and remove obstructions caused by encroachments.

Police Officials Assure Action on Complaints

Assistant Commissioner of Police Pawan Kumar, Jagatpuri Station House Officer Abhishek and Traffic Inspector Abhishek Chaitanya attended the meeting along with police station committee members.

Police officials listened to the complaints and assured attendees that necessary steps would be taken to address the concerns. Discussions also covered improving traffic management and reducing roadblocks caused by encroachments.

MLA Calls for Regular Reviews and Better Coordination

Dr Anil Goyal stressed the need for regular reviews of public grievances and stronger coordination among the departments responsible for resolving them.

The meeting raised hopes among local residents that the issues would receive attention and that concrete measures would be taken to improve traffic flow and parking arrangements across the constituency.
