Fatehpur Railway Station Speeds Up Ramp & Lift Work with 100 Workers on Site

At the Fatehpur railway station, 100 workers have been deployed to complete at the earliest the under-construction ramps and lifts of the foot overbridges connecting platforms one to four, so that the bridges are ready before the inauguration on September 15.

Of the three six-meter ramps of the foot overbridges, two ramps have been completed and work on the third ramp is ongoing. Meanwhile, the staircases for the twelve-meter lift have been installed and sheds are being put up. After this, the engineering department will install state-of-the-art lifts. Electricians and the engineering department are busy completing other minor works.

Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, beautification work of the railway station is going on at a cost of ₹37.2 crore. The work on the circulating area has been completed. The work on Platform No. South City has also been almost completed but some part remains, for which the Gati Shakti Unit Prayagraj has corresponded with the DRM office seeking a budget of ₹5 crore.

Construction of two foot overbridges connecting Platform Nos. 1 to 4 is underway. In recent days, DRM Rajneesh Agrawal inspected the railway station and reviewed the under-construction works, instructing subordinate officers to complete at the earliest the remaining work of South City of both foot overbridges. Acting on this, the Gati Shakti Unit has increased the number of workers to 100. Chief Commercial Inspector Mahendra Gupta said that the inauguration is to be held on September 15. Therefore, rapid work is going on on the bridges and other tasks. Finishing work is being carried out in South City.

Engineer says, lift to be installed after sheds

Section Engineer of the foot overbridges, R.P. Yadav, said that the target is to complete the work of lifts and ramps of both foot overbridges under any circumstances before September 15. For this, the number of workers has been increased to more than a hundred. At present the staircases have been built, sheds are being installed. After this, the engineering department will carry out the work of installing state-of-the-art lifts. For now, focus is on completing the work.

Work halted due to lack of ₹5 crore

For minor works such as the entrance gate, road, etc. in Platform No. 4 South City, the Gati Shakti Unit had corresponded with the DRM office Prayagraj for release of a budget of ₹5 crore. Because the budget has not yet been released, the work is at a standstill. Meanwhile, finishing work is going on. In-charge of the Gati Shakti Unit, Mohd. Wahid said that work will be started as soon as the budget is released.
