New Delhi: Although the flames in the Rani Garden slum settlement reduced the homes and the hard-earned savings of many families to ashes, a helping hand has emerged to support them in this hour of need. In a humanitarian gesture, local MLA Dr Anil Goyal provided relief to the affected families by distributing a month’s supply of rations and essential daily necessities.

The fire completely destroyed the household belongings of many families. This sudden disaster created a severe crisis, leaving them struggling to secure food, shelter, and the means to meet their daily needs. Recognising the plight of the victims, MLA Dr Anil Goyal remained in constant contact with them, assuring them of all possible assistance.

Distribution of Rations, Hygiene Kits, Household Essentials, and Tarpaulins

As part of this relief effort, the affected families were provided with a month’s supply of rations, hygiene kits, essential household items, and tarpaulins. The rations will help address their food requirements, while the hygiene kits and household goods will cater to their basic daily needs. The tarpaulins will provide the affected families with temporary shelter and a way to keep their belongings protected.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Dr Anil Goyal stated that in times of disaster, merely expressing sympathy is not enough; it is essential to deliver immediate aid to those in need. He urged the families in his constituency not to feel alone, emphasising that it is the moral and social duty of an elected representative to stand by the public through both their joys and sorrows. Efforts to provide assistance will continue, with the goal of helping the affected families return to their normal lives. This humanitarian initiative received significant support from the Delhi Disaster Management Authority and partner non-governmental organisations, under the guidance of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The MLA expressed gratitude to all the collaborating organisations.
