New Delhi: In the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), there has never been an instance where a team has managed to become the champion of a season without losing a single match. Given this context, if a former champion cricketer were to suggest that the Punjab Kings could potentially win the tournament this year without suffering a single defeat, it would undoubtedly be a startling statement for everyone. Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary—who has previously lifted the IPL trophy with KKR—is fully convinced that the Punjab Kings possess the capability to lift the trophy this year without losing a single match.
During a conversation with Cricbuzz, Manoj Tiwary stated: “We might just witness a new record. They (Punjab Kings) could become undefeated champions. There is absolutely no doubt about it. Given the brand of cricket they are playing—whether it be their batting, their spin department, their pace bowling, or their captaincy—the team’s atmosphere appears to be excellent. I feel we can certainly entertain the idea that they could remain undefeated. There is nothing wrong with thinking that way. Given the kind of momentum they currently possess, everything seems to be going their way. They also have a stable captain at the helm. It is truly gratifying to witness this, especially considering the struggles they have endured over the years.”
Punjab Kings Making Waves Under Shreyas Iyer’s Leadership

At the time of writing, Iyer and his team have played a total of six matches in the tournament. Of these, they have secured victory in five matches, while one match ended in a draw due to rain. The team currently has a total of 11 points (+1.420) to its name.
