According to the latest rate, petrol in Hyderabad is at Rs 115.69 per litre. Its price in Thiruvananthapuram is Rs 115.49 per litre. Petrol is being sold at Rs 114.24 per litre in Patna, Rs 113.51 in Kolkata and Rs 112.66 per litre in Jaipur. Petrol is being sold at Rs 111.21 per litre in Mumbai. It is Rs 110.89 per litre in Bengaluru and Rs 108.97 per litre in Bhubaneswar. Petrol is priced at Rs 102.12 per litre in Delhi, Rs 102.62 in Gurugram and Rs 101.96 per litre in Noida. Delhi’s price is the lowest among metro cities, but it has still not come below Rs. 100.

How far has the price of diesel reached?

Talking about diesel, it is Rs 104.40 per litre in Thiruvananthapuram. A litre is being sold at Rs 103.82 in Hyderabad and Rs 100.68 in Bhubaneswar. Diesel has also reached three digits in these cities. Diesel in Delhi is Rs 95.20 a litre. It is Rs 97.83 per litre in Mumbai, Rs 99.65 in Chennai and Rs 99.82 in Kolkata. Diesel is running around Rs 95 in Gurugram, Noida and Lucknow. The figure of 100 has not been touched here yet.

When did prices last rise?

The prices of petrol and diesel were last changed on May 25. That day petrol became costlier by Rs 2.61 a litre and diesel by Rs 2.71 a litre. Since then, oil companies have not made any new changes in prices. Rates are updated every morning at 6 am, but the rates are the same as before. At present, the relief to the drivers is that the prices are not increasing continuously. But the blow of May is still hurting people’s pockets. Its impact is visible on everything, from everyday things to rent. Oil companies are saying that the rates are decided according to the international market, but the common man is waiting for relief.
