Delhi News:Two Spanish nationals allegedly trespassed at the Yamuna Bank Metro depot in Delhi and painted objectionable graffiti on walls and coaches of the metro, an official said on Monday. The incident came to light on July 24 after metro staff noticed objectionable graffiti painted on the walls of the depot and coaches.

Entered the premises by scaling the wall

A senior police officer said that it is alleged that the two accused secretly entered the restricted premises by scaling the 15-foot-high wall of the depot with the help of a rope on the intervening night of July 23 and 24 and stayed there for five hours. During this time, they made objectionable pictures with spray paint on the metro coaches parked there and the walls of the depot. After this, they went to a hotel in Paharganj, where they were staying.

Fake documents were used to get a SIM card

According to the police, the accused have been identified as Spanish citizens who left for Spain on July 25. Now the process of issuing a lookout circular is being started against them for further legal action. During the investigation, it was found that the accused had allegedly used fake documents to obtain SIM cards. It also came to light that many CCTV cameras in the depot were not working properly at the time of the incident.

During the incident, 2 Indian and 2 foreign numbers were active

The police tracked the mobile numbers active in the area at the time of the incident, which revealed that two Indian and two foreign numbers were active during the incident. The investigation also revealed that the accused also visited Gol Market after the incident. A Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) spokesperson said that they are fully cooperating with the police officials in the ongoing investigation. Meanwhile, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS (Indian Justice Code) at the Yamuna Bank Metro police station, and further investigation is underway.
