New Delhi: The southwest monsoon has become fully active across the country, bringing widespread rainfall to most parts of North India. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rain is expected over the next few days in 18 states, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha. The weather department has also issued a heavy rainfall warning for several locations.

How will Delhi’s weather be?

There may be light to moderate rain in Delhi on Saturday. There will also be drizzle at some places. There will be clouds in the sky throughout the day. This will provide relief from heat and humidity. The day temperature is expected to be between 30 and 32 degrees.

Where will it rain in UP?

It will rain in both the western and eastern parts of UP.

Western UP: Rain may continue till July 13.
Eastern UP: Chances of rain till July 15. Yellow alert today: Bijnor, Bulandshahr, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar.
Rain possible: Gorakhpur, Ballia, Ghazipur, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj.


There may be light rain in Noida-Ghaziabad. There is less rainfall in Lucknow, Kanpur, Banda, Hamirpur, Jalaun.

How long will it rain in other states?

Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh: 11-12 July
Himachal Pradesh: 11 to 15 July, heavy rain at many places
Uttarakhand: Heavy rain from 11 to 16 July
Punjab: 10 to 13 July; Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh: 11 to 13 July
Eastern UP: 12 to 14 July

How will the weather be in the mountains?

In Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, there may be heavy rain till July 12. Heavy rain is expected in many places in Himachal, including Shimla and Manali, between July 11 and 16. In Uttarakhand too, there may be torrential rains in many districts till July 15. There is a fear of landslides in the hilly areas.

In these states of Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana, intermittent rains will continue till July 16. The heat will reduce due to rain. But low-lying areas may be flooded, and traffic jams may occur. The weather department has advised people to keep checking updates and go out only for essential work.
