Bengaluru Woman Arrested After Stabbing Gym Trainer Boyfriend Over Relationship Rift

Bengaluru: A shocking incident unfolded in Bengaluru on Friday night when a 30-year-old woman stabbed her boyfriend, who works as a gym trainer, after he began distancing himself in their relationship, police said. The injured man was rushed to a private hospital and is currently in stable condition, while the woman surrendered to authorities shortly after the attack.

The victim, identified as 27-year-old Venugopal, has been in a romantic relationship with 30-year-old Sudha for around five to six years. Sources told police that in recent weeks the couple had been arguing and Venugopal had been pulling away, hoping to create some space in the relationship. Sudha became upset over his behavior and confronted him about it.

According to investigators, Sudha invited Venugopal to her home near Silk Farm Quarters in Bidadi to talk things over. The discussion soon turned into a heated argument. In a fit of anger, Sudha allegedly stabbed him multiple times with a knife. After injuring him, she walked to the nearby police station and turned herself in.

Emergency responders took Venugopal to a private hospital in Bidadi, where doctors treated his wounds. Officials say he is out of immediate danger and receiving further care. The police have registered a case in connection with the stabbing and are investigating the incident.

Officers believe the attack was triggered by emotional distress over the changing dynamics of their long-term relationship. After surrendering, Sudha was taken into custody for questioning. Bengaluru authorities have not specified whether she has been charged yet, but the case is being treated as an attempt to cause grievous harm.

This case adds to a broader picture of domestic and relationship-linked crimes being reported across urban centers in India, where disputes that start over personal matters sometimes escalate into violent confrontations. Law enforcement agencies continue to remind the public about seeking help through counselling and support services in cases of emotional conflict.

Police are gathering more details about the couple’s history and the circumstances leading up to the attack as they proceed with their investigation. Venugopal’s condition and the legal action against Sudha will depend on medical reports and further statements from both parties.
