The Bihar School Examination Board officially declared that Intermediate examinations for 2026 will take place from 2 February to 13 February. All subjects including Science, Commerce and Arts will follow the fixed schedule during these twelve days. Soon after completion of Inter exams, Matric examinations will start from 17 February and continue until 25 February 2026. Officials confirmed that both examinations will be completed within the same month to maintain academic consistency. Schools across the state have welcomed the clarity.
What Technology Will Be Used?
For the first time, the board will provide support through an AI chatbot system to assist students with exam-related queries. This modern facility will allow candidates to access information such as admit card details, timetable and guidelines without delay. Officials believe this step will reduce confusion and improve communication. The decision reflects Bihar Board’s efforts to introduce digital solutions for better exam management. Experts consider it a progressive move for rural as well as urban examinees.
What About Alternative Exams Option?
BSEB Chairman Anand Kishor informed that students who fail to appear in main exams or obtain unsatisfactory marks will be given an opportunity through compartmental and special examinations. These tests will be organised between April and May 2026. The purpose is to prevent academic loss due to unavoidable issues. The board ensured that evaluation for the main exams will start immediately after completion. Final results are expected to be released between May and June to maintain academic calendar alignment.
How Many Students Registered Already?
According to official data, 15,02,021 students have submitted forms for the 2026 Matric exams so far. Meanwhile, 13,07,241 candidates have registered for Intermediate examinations. Students who have not yet filled their forms can complete the process until 3 December 2025. The board has instructed all schools to verify and update student lists carefully to avoid missing any names. Administrators have been requested to complete all documentation before deadlines to ensure smooth hall ticket distribution.
Will Exam Arrangements Be Strong?
Bihar Board officials assured that centres will be assigned in advance for both examinations. Security systems including surveillance cameras and control monitoring may be implemented to prevent cheating. The timetable has been structured to avoid conflict between Inter and Matric schedules. Evaluation will be done with enhanced transparency to ensure fairness. Officials confirmed that preparations are already underway and coordinated support will be provided to supervisors and invigilators.
How Should Students Prepare Now?
Teachers advise students to use the remaining preparation months wisely and follow the official syllabus without deviation. The AI chatbot may help solve quick exam-related doubts. Students are encouraged to practise previous question papers regularly to improve speed and accuracy. Schools are expected to organise revision sessions before exams begin. Experts recommend maintaining discipline, proper rest and healthy routine to handle pressure effectively during the exam period.
