Bihar to Get Another Airport Soon, Tender Process Begins in this City

Bihar is to get an additional airport to improve air connectivity, as tenders have been issued for the construction of a new airport in Muzaffarpur, an important city in the Tirhut belt. From Saturday, companies can download documents related to the tender. The last date for submitting bids (proposals) has been set as November 17, 2025. The first bid will open on November 21, and the final bid will be opened on December 5. Before this, on October 27, a pre-bid meeting will be held in Delhi, in which all matters related to the work will be clarified.

1250 square meters terminal building
According to the plan, a runway 1050 meters long and 30 meters wide will be constructed at Muzaffarpur Airport. There will also be space (apron) for parking two aircraft and a terminal building of about 1250 square meters. Meanwhile, the master plan of Patahi Airport is even larger, where facilities will be created for the landing of bigger planes and additional services.

According to officials, flights of small aircraft are possible on the existing land, but some additional land will be required to develop Patahi Airport.

With the construction of the airport, it will become easier to connect North Bihar with the major cities of the country. This will not only make travel more convenient but also create new opportunities for employment and trade.

Confirmation by Samrat Choudhary
The Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary confirmed this historic decision on his social media platform ‘X’. Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for this achievement, he said that this decision will fulfill the dreams of millions of people in the Tirhut region.

Tirhut region to get the gift of air connectivity
In his tweet, the Deputy CM said, “There is good news of flights from Muzaffarpur. Another option for air service in Bihar, along with the entire Tirhut region, has now been prepared.” He informed that the tendering process for the new construction of Muzaffarpur Airport has been completed, and a modern building will be prepared here with pre-fabricated steel structure.

This project will not only open a new route of travel for the people of Tirhut region but also provide a new direction to trade, industry, and tourism.

Public enthusiasm, new dimension to development
After this announcement, there is a wave of happiness in Muzaffarpur and nearby districts. Now, people of the region will not have to depend on Patna or other cities for air travel. With the operation of Patahi Airport, the commercial sector and farmers of North Bihar will get direct access to the national market. Along with this, opportunities in education, healthcare, and employment will also increase.

Result of joint efforts of the Center and State Government
In recent years, several new initiatives have been taken to expand air connectivity in Bihar. After Darbhanga, Gaya, and Patna, Muzaffarpur is now also going to be added to the air map of Bihar. With the joint efforts of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this step will prove to be an important milestone in the direction of balanced regional development in the state.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said, “This decision is a symbol of the joint working style of PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar and their dedication towards the development of Bihar. Now the sky of Bihar will soar higher, and Tirhut’s flight will touch new heights.”
