Delhi Chain Snatching Case Solved in 24 Hours, Shahdara Police Arrest Two Accused

New Delhi: Delhi Police is continuously tightening its grip against snatchers in the capital. GTB Enclave police station of Shahdara district acted swiftly in a gold chain snatching case and arrested two accused within 24 hours. Police have also recovered the stolen motorcycle used in the crime and the clothes worn by the accused at the time of the incident. However, the snatched gold chain has not been recovered yet. According to the police, the third accomplice involved in the crime is absconding with the chain and police teams are busy searching for him.

Woman buying vegetables targeted

Shahdara District DCP Rajendra Prasad Meena said that on October 4, a woman was buying vegetables. Meanwhile, two miscreants riding a motorcycle snatched the gold chain from his neck and fled from the spot. After this sudden incident, the matter was informed to the police. On the basis of the complaint, a case was registered at GTB Enclave police station and the search for the accused was started.

First clue found from CCTV footage

After the incident, the police started scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed at the spot and surrounding areas. While closely examining the footage, police found a partial registration number of the motorcycle used in the crime. Further investigation revealed that the motorcycle was stolen from Harsh Vihar area.

From here the investigation gained momentum. The police matched CCTV footage from different places and identified the suspects with the help of secret information system. After this, the team of GTB Enclave police station raided Nand Nagri area and arrested both the accused.

Clothes also revealed secrets

In this action, the police did not limit itself to only arresting the accused. Along with the stolen motorcycle used in the crime, the clothes worn by the accused at the time of the incident were also recovered. According to the police, these clothes were also visible in the CCTV footage. The recovery has provided an important link in the investigation of the case.

Identification of the arrested accused

Police have identified the arrested accused as Naveen alias Goldie, resident of Sunder Nagri, aged 36 years, and Vinod, resident of Dharampura, Gandhi Nagar, aged 40 years.

Search for third accomplice absconding with gold chain

The biggest challenge for the police in this case right now is to recover the snatched gold chain. According to the police, the third accomplice involved in the crime is absconding with the stolen property. Continuous efforts are being made for his arrest and recovery of the gold chain. Police are also investigating whether the accused are involved in any other crime or not.

This action was carried out by the team formed under the supervision of GTB Enclave police station in-charge Inspector Brijesh Mishra. The team included ASI Karam Veer, Head Constable Sudhir, Head Constable Mohit, Head Constable Manish, Head Constable Rohit and Constable Abhishek. The entire operation was monitored under the overall supervision of Shahdara district Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajendra Prasad Meena.

According to police officials, success in the case was achieved through prompt action, thorough analysis of CCTV footage, secret information and continuous field efforts. Police teams are now busy in reaching the absconding third accused and recovering the gold chain.
