Delhi-NCR Braces For More Rain

New Delhi: For the past several days, heat and humidity had made life difficult in Delhi-NCR. Now, the next three days could be challenging for the people of Delhi-NCR. The weather is expected to change drastically during this period. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert regarding thunderstorms, strong winds, lightning, and rain.

What did the IMD say?

According to the IMD, a new western disturbance is becoming active on June 11. Due to this, cloud movement will increase rapidly over Delhi-NCR, and light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is possible in many areas. Due to the influence of a western disturbance and a cyclonic circulation over northwestern Uttar Pradesh, the weather may change significantly between June 11 and 13.

Did IMD issue orange alert?

The IMD has issued an orange alert for June 11, which is expected to be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds. Gusts are expected to reach 70 kilometers per hour. A yellow alert has been issued for June 12, which the weather department predicts could lead to thunderstorms.

According to the IMD, there will be no significant change in the maximum temperature over the next 24 hours, but after that, temperatures could drop by 6 to 7 degrees Celsius by June 12. The minimum temperature may initially increase by 2 to 3 degrees, but is expected to decrease by 4 to 5 degrees Celsius by June 13. This will provide relief from the scorching heat.

When did it start raining at night?

After the storm, drizzle started in many parts of Delhi around 10 pm. The sequence continued till after midnight. When the cold wind blew along with the rain, the weather became completely pleasant. People heaved a sigh of relief after several days. People sitting on the terrace and drinking tea were also seen.

How will the weather be next two days?

The India Meteorological Department is saying that the sky may remain cloudy on Wednesday. Wind is expected to blow at a speed of 30-40 kilometers throughout the day. There may also be light rain with the formation of thunder clouds in the afternoon or evening. There is an orange alert for Thursday and a yellow alert for Friday. There are chances of strong storms and rain on both these days. If it rains, the temperature will drop further and there will be more relief from the heat.

Will the heat subside now?

The temperature will come down due to rain and strong wind. People of Delhi-NCR will get some respite from heat wave and humidity. But the heat has not gone completely yet, after light rain the humidity may return again. So be careful. At present the night rain has made the heart happy. The lightning flashed, the wind blew and the sleep was good.
