New Delhi: Fed up with the monotonous 9 to 5 life and the boss’s nagging, a girl from Delhi achieved what we only dream about while sitting at a tea stall. A girl, named Anshika Pathakk, left her well-paying job just to nurture her creativity. She has also clearly stated that the content world, as colourful as it appears from the outside, demands just as much “frenetic” hard work from within.

The Delhi-based content creator shared her journey of both pain and success on Instagram.

How was her content creation and corporate job?

Taking to Instagram, Anshika revealed that within the first month of leaving her job, she earned Rs 1.5 lakh through collaboration and freelancing. This amount was much more than her previous salary, where she use to get Rs 9 lakh per annum, which is attracting the world’s attention.

But wait not everything is easy and fancy. The real story begins here. Anshika also shared that sometimes she has to beg for payment. There is no fixed income meter in content creation. Sometimes money pours in for a month, and sometimes it’s dry.

What are three must-checks before quitting 9-5?

If you’re thinking of submitting your resignation, then wait and first ask these three questions.

Anshika left the office only after meeting three conditions:

  • First, are you already earning through content?
  • Second, do you have a three-month emergency fund?
  • And third, do you have enough network to get paid work?

Only when the answers to these three questions were “yes” did she choose her freedom.

People on social media are praising her honesty, as she presented reality, not just glitz and glamour.

What did the content creator share?

Taking to Instagram, Anshika shared the video with the caption, “Watch this if you’re planning to leave your job to pursue content creation. I know it sounds very fascinating when a lot of people on the internet talk about how they left their 9-5 for content creation. But trust me, it isn’t always as happening as it looks. Before leaving my job I made sure that the answer to all the 3 questions mentioned in the video was a YES. I built all that before quitting my job. Content can pay you really well at times but many times there are months that dont go so well. So before quitting stability, analyse your position.”
