Weather Alert for 11 Districts

In an alert issued at 6:00 AM, the Meteorological Department predicted light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds—reaching speeds of 30 to 45 km/h—across most parts of Delhi until 9:00 AM. There was also a forecast of heavy rainfall in parts of South-East, East, Shahdara, Central, North-East, South, New Delhi, South-West, West, North-West, and North Delhi.

Risks Ranging from Waterlogging to Lightning Strikes

The Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rainfall could lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas and disrupt road traffic. There is also a risk of weak structures, trees, and billboards collapsing, alongside the danger of lightning strikes. Crops and vegetables standing in open fields may also sustain damage. Both the administration and the public have been advised to remain vigilant. People have been urged to avoid waterlogged routes, refrain from standing under weak structures or trees, and stay away from open fields during lightning.
