New Delhi: A ‘National Reflection Dialogue’ and ‘Intellectual Citizens’ Forum’ were organised at Oswal Bhawan in Vivek Vihar Phase-2, Shahdara district. The theme of the event was ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy.’ Delhi government minister Kapil Mishra attended as the chief guest. Local MLA Sanjay Goyal, representatives and office-bearers from various Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), and a large number of intellectual citizens were also present.

The event commenced with a collective rendition of the national song, ‘Vande Mataram’. This was followed by a ‘National Reflection Dialogue’ focused on political and social issues. In his address, Minister Kapil Mishra launched a sharp counter-attack against the rhetoric used by opposition leaders regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He stated that no matter how many abuses opposition leaders—who target the Modi government over issues like Naxalism, terrorism, and corruption—may hurl, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not going anywhere.

Raises the issue of Bangladeshi nationals and Rohingya Muslims

Addressing the issue of Bangladeshi nationals and Rohingya Muslims, Kapil Mishra claimed that a large number of them are present in various parts of Delhi, including the trans-Yamuna region and Seelampur. He raised this matter in the context of concerns regarding national security and citizenship. Furthermore, he made a pointed remark while referencing the political discourse surrounding Kokrajhar, stating—as reported—that while some people might not even die from a bomb blast, they could be finished off with a shoe. Throughout the event, discussions were held on topics such as political ideologies, democracy, national security, and social order. The leaders shared their perspectives with the citizens in attendance.

Taking a dig at the statements of opponents

During his address, the minister made sharp remarks directed at certain political parties and their leaders. Taking a dig at the statements made by his opponents, he remarked that while they could not be killed even with a bomb, they could be finished off with a shoe. This statement further intensified the political atmosphere at the event. Local MLA Sanjay Goyal and other prominent figures present at the gathering also shared their perspectives on matters concerning the national interest, the democratic system, and social responsibility. The event served as a platform to foster dialogue among local citizens regarding various political and social issues.
