A 100-foot-tall silo, a round structure used to store large amounts of material, fell down in the command area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand, a police officer said on Saturday.
A worker trapped under the fallen debris was later save

The accident happened late Friday night at Madhuban washery in the Block-2 area of BCCL under Baghmara police station limits, sub-divisional police officer Purushottam Kumar Singh said.
A BCCL official mentioned that the matter will be looked into.

MLA visits site after accident

Baghmara MLA Shatrughan Mahato, who went to the spot, said there are three silos in the area. He explained that the first silo had the entry point for the other two, and it suddenly collapsed on Friday night.

Worker rescued from debris

Mahato added that a worker was in the third tower at the time and got trapped after the collapse. “He was rescued safely by the team on Saturday,” the MLA said.
He further informed that the silos were built about six to seven years ago and are being managed by a private company.
