New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Wednesday extended the deadline for NEET UG 2026 candidates to update their bank account details to receive a refund of the examination fee following the cancellation of the exam held on May 3. Candidates can now complete the process by July 14, by 11:50 pm.
Did NTA extend the deadline?
The NTA has once again given NEET UG 2026 students the opportunity to update their bank details. Not even half of the students have completed this process for a fee refund. Over 2.2 million students who took the May 3 exam are receiving their fee refund after the NEET exam was cancelled following a paper leak. The deadline to update their bank account information to receive a fee refund was originally July 7, but it has now been extended to July 14, 2026.
How many students have updated their information so far?
The NTA has stated that a total of 1,028,223 students have updated their bank account information so far, and the refund process has begun. It’s worth noting that this figure is still less than half, meaning approximately 1.2 million students have not yet updated their information for a fee refund. This is why the deadline is being continuously extended. The NTA is striving to ensure that all students receive their fee refunds.
What to do for NEET UG 2026 refund?
- First of all, visit the official website of NEET, neet.nta.nic.in
- Click on the link Final Opportunity to Confirm/Update Bank Account Details for NEET (UG) 2026 Fee Refund (Exam held on 03 May 2026) on the homepage.
- After this, you will have to log in by entering the required credentials.
- After opening the candidate dashboard, the bank account needs to be verified.
- Check all the information carefully before submitting it.
When will the candidate get the refund?
Once you update your bank details, your fee will be refunded to your account within the next week or 15 days. Ensure that your bank account details are accurate. Students who have not yet completed the NEET UG 2026 fee refund process should do so immediately.
