Noida: A 23-year-old construction worker died after falling from the 12th floor of the under-construction Ivory County project in Sector 115, Noida, on Thursday night. The deceased, identified as Javed Hussain, was a native of West Bengal and worked as a foreman and labour in-charge at the site.

Following the incident, family members and fellow workers accused the contractor of attempting to conceal the body in construction debris. The allegations triggered a protest on Friday, when workers halted construction and demanded an impartial investigation and strict action against those responsible.

Family and Workers Raise Serious Allegations

According to the family, the incident occurred at around 8 pm on Thursday, when Javed fell from a height and died.

Workers alleged that after the accident, the contractor attempted to hide the body among the debris and remove it without informing the family. They also claimed they were not allowed to see the body before it was taken away.

Another allegation concerns the person who reportedly took the body for post-mortem examination, who is said to have left without informing those present at the site. The contractor was also alleged to have fled following the incident.

These claims have not yet been independently established, and the circumstances surrounding the worker’s death remain under investigation.

Why Did Workers Stop Construction at the Site?

Anger spread among workers and the deceased’s family after the incident came to light. On Friday, workers stopped construction activities in protest and demanded transparency regarding the circumstances of Javed’s death.

The family alleged that they had not been properly informed about the removal of the body. Workers called for a fair inquiry into the incident and action against anyone found responsible for negligence or wrongdoing.

Police Send Body for Post-Mortem Examination

Personnel from Sector 113 police station reached the construction site after receiving information about the incident. Police completed the inquest proceedings and sent the body for post-mortem examination.

According to police, necessary legal action is being taken. The exact circumstances that led to Javed’s fall, along with the allegations concerning the handling of his body, will need to be established through the investigation.
