New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday appealed to the countrymen in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program for active participation in the 2027 census. He called it not just a government process but the responsibility of every citizen and assured that the information given by the people will remain completely safe and confidential. He said that this time the census process is being made digital, which will make the work more transparent.

The Prime Minister said that only correct data decides the direction of planning and development of a country. In such a situation, it is important that people give correct and complete information. He appealed to the people to cooperate when officials visit door to door and avoid giving any kind of wrong information.

PM Modi said that this time digital method will be used in the census. Officials will collect data through mobile app. Apart from this, people will also get the option to fill their information themselves, which will make the process easier and faster.

He said that those who enter their information themselves will be given a unique ID. This ID will be received on mobile or email, which can later be verified by showing it to the officer.
