Pensioners can register on the new portal using Aadhaar eKYC in a few simple steps. After registration, they get a login ID to use from mobile, PC, or laptop. The process is designed to be friendly for first-time users. No need to visit the pension office for routine work. Family pensioners can also register and manage their details. The aim is to save time, travel, and stress for elderly people.
Which Services Start From Today?
Six key services go live first for pensioners across Punjab. These include submitting a Digital Life Certificate via the Jeevan Pramaan mobile app. Requests for converting pension to family pension can be filed online. Pensioners can apply for Leave Travel Concession (LTC) through the portal. A complaint module lets users raise pension issues quickly. A profile update module allows safe changes to personal details.
What If Registration Has Problems?
Some users may face small glitches during the early days of rollout. For fast support, a dedicated war room is set up at the Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts. Three helplines will operate on working days from 9 am to 5 pm. Pensioners can call 18001802148, 01722996385, or 01722996386 for help. Officers have instructions to resolve complaints quickly and transparently. The government says no senior will be left behind.
Will NRI Pensioners Also Benefit?
Right now, the portal works only within India for Aadhaar eKYC and login. NRI pensioners do not need to complete eKYC in this first phase. They can keep submitting manual life certificates as before to continue pension. Work is underway to enable eKYC for NRIs in the next update. Once enabled, overseas pensioners can also use full online services. Till then, their existing method remains valid and accepted.
Can Services Be Used Without Internet?
If a pensioner cannot use the portal from home, help is still nearby. Services can be availed through the nearest Sewa Kendra with guided assistance. Home delivery of services can be requested where available. Related bank branches and district treasury offices will also support submissions. This mixed model ensures no one is blocked by device or connectivity gaps. The promise is access for every registered pensioner.
Are Staff Trained And Ready?
District treasury offices, banks, and Sewa Kendras have already completed training sessions. Detailed guides and step-by-step documents have been shared with field teams. A pilot run at treasury offices, banks, and Sewa Kendras succeeded earlier. This pilot tested workflows and fixed common issues before statewide launch. The learnings were used to stabilize the live system. Officials say the backend is ready for scale.
Why Does This Change Matter?
Going digital ends long queues and repeated pension-office visits for seniors. Transparent tracking reduces anxiety about file status and payments. Family pension cases can move faster with fewer paperwork rounds. Complaints reach the right desk through a single channel. Verified life certificates can be submitted safely from home. The government calls pensioners its pride and promises timely, accurate, hassle-free service going forward.
