Bravery Rewarded: Two Chhattisgarh Officers to Receive Shaurya Chakra for Crushing Naxals

The anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh have dealt a severe blow to Naxal activities in recent months. Many have either surrendered or been eliminated. Security forces are now being recognized for their bravery. Two courageous inspectors of the Chhattisgarh Police, Kevat and Deshmukh, will be awarded the Shaurya Chakra for leading operations against Naxals and successfully eliminating extremists. Both have been nominated for the honor by the Central Government.

TI Laxman Kevat’s Reaction

Speaking on being selected for the Shaurya Chakra, TI Pakhanzur Laxman Kevat said,
“Union Home Minister has set a deadline of March 2026 to completely eradicate Naxalism. Keeping this in mind, we are working continuously in Naxal-affected regions. I have already been awarded the President’s Gallantry Medal six times, and now I have also received the Shaurya Chakra. We are working with full dedication to achieve this target, and I am confident that Naxalism will be wiped out well before March 2026.”

TI Rameshwar Deshmukh’s Statement

TI Bhanupratappur Rameshwar Deshmukh, who has also been nominated for the Shaurya Medal, expressed his pride while speaking to the media. He said, “It is truly a matter of great honor for me to be chosen by the Central Government for the Shaurya Chakra. Since 2012, I have been part of anti-Naxal campaigns. Under my leadership, around 50 Maoists have been neutralized. I have already been awarded the Gallantry Medal twice and once with the Efficiency Medal. This recognition encourages me to continue serving with the same dedication.
