New Delhi: Today i.e. on Friday, 25th September, the festival of Anant Chaturdashi is being celebrated. With this the Ganesh Utsav is also coming to an end. There is a tradition of immersing the idol of Lord Ganesha on the day of Anant Chaturdashi. It is believed that bidding farewell to Bappa with devotion and rituals maintains happiness, peace and prosperity in the house. How to worship Ganpati Bappa before immersion?
Before Ganesh Visarjan, worship Lord Ganesha duly. First of all, apply Tilak to Bappa and offer Durva. After this offer flowers and garlands. Light a lamp and offer modak or sweets to Lord Ganesha as per your devotion.
After completion of the puja, all the family members together perform the Aarti of Lord Ganesha. During this time, pray to God for the happiness, peace, health and prosperity of the family. It is also considered auspicious to ask forgiveness from Bappa for any mistake made during puja.
What is the correct method of Ganesh immersion?
After completion of Aarti, lift the idol of Lord Ganesha respectfully. While going to the immersion site, shout ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya, next year you come quickly.’ (Agle Baras Jaldi Ana).
Before immersion, once again perform the Aarti of Lord Ganesha. After this, immerse the idol with reverence. In many places, according to tradition, rice, panchmeva and sweets are also kept in a small red bundle along with Bappa.
When is the auspicious time for Ganesh immersion on 25th September?
Auspicious times for Ganesh immersion have been mentioned at different times today. Morning Muhurta will be from 6:11 am to 10:42 am. If immersion is not possible during this period, then the time from 12:13 pm to 1:43 pm is considered auspicious.
Apart from this, immersion can also be done in the evening from 4:44 pm to 6:14 pm.
What things should be kept in mind at the time of Bappa’s farewell?
Maintain reverence and respect towards Lord Ganesha at the time of immersion. Take the idol safely to the immersion site and follow the instructions of the local administration. Keeping the environment in mind, it is better to immerse at the designated place only.
