Vrindavan: A Sankalp Deep Jyoti Yatra was organised in Vrindavan on Tuesday to spread awareness about the campaign seeking the liberation of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi. Led by Mahendra Pratap Singh, advocate and president of the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Mukti Nyas, the procession began at Chintamani Kunj and proceeded to the ISKCON temple.
During the march, saints and religious leaders urged members of the Hindu community to become aware of the issue and strengthen the ongoing movement. The trust appealed to Hindu families in India and abroad to light a lamp in their homes during the holy month of Kartik as a symbol of their resolve concerning Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi.
Campaign Plans Extend Beyond India
Mahendra Pratap Singh said several initiatives were being undertaken to bring the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi dispute to public attention. These include the Hindu Chetna Yatra, the Chalo Gaon Ki Ore campaign, vehicle and foot marches, and programmes associated with the Braj Chaurasi Kos Parikrama.
He stated that evidence relating to the Janmabhoomi case had been submitted before the court and that the matter was being pursued through legal channels.
Singh added that the Sankalp Deep campaign was being prepared for an international outreach. Discussions had reportedly taken place with supporters living in Spain, Germany, the United States, Japan, Australia and Austria. Plans are being considered to encourage Hindu families in these countries to light lamps during Kartik and reaffirm their commitment to the campaign.
Saints Urge Devotees to Participate in the Lamp-Lighting Drive
Sant Govindanand Teerth Maharaj said the collective strength and unity of saints could help advance even the most challenging objectives. He described the lamp carried during the Sankalp Deep Jyoti Yatra as a symbol not only of light but also of faith and determination. He appealed to people to light a Krishna Deep in their homes and support the initiative.
Sant Balaram Baba described Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi as a significant centre of Sanatan faith and emphasised the need to resolve the dispute associated with the site. Paramhans Swami Sureshanand Maharaj also expressed support for the campaign and encouraged Hindu families to participate in the lamp-lighting initiative.
