On Saturday evening, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made an unannounced visit to Government Doon Medical College Hospital. The aim was to check the availability of health services, the quality of care, and the hospital’s overall management.

Interaction with Patients and Families

During the inspection, he met patients undergoing treatment, asked about their health, and gathered feedback on the services offered by the hospital. By directly talking to patients and their attendants, he evaluated the quality of medical care and gave necessary instructions to improve it further.

Directions for Better Facilities and Cleanliness

The Chief Minister told hospital officials to make sure that people accompanying patients have proper facilities in the waiting area. While looking over the waiting room, he instructed arrangements for clean drinking water, fans, and comfortable seating. He highlighted that attendants are an important part of the hospital environment and must have basic amenities to stay mentally relaxed. He also ordered immediate work on cleanliness, regular sanitisation, and maintenance of the hospital premises. According to him, a hospital should offer not only treatment but also emotional and physical comfort to patients and their families, making hygiene and upkeep essential.

Focus on Schemes and Service Qualit

CM Dhami visited the Blood Sample Collection Centre to see how samples are collected, recorded, and tested in the laboratory. He praised the technology used there and called for constant monitoring. He also asked doctors, staff, and the hospital administration to ensure timely and quality treatment, stating that strengthening healthcare remains a key priority for the state government. The Chief Minister then reviewed the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana Help Desk inside the hospital. He spoke with staff about how the scheme operates, card distribution, claim settlement, and support to beneficiaries. He also interacted with people present at the desk to know their experiences. He directed that every eligible person must get the benefits of the scheme and that clear, simple, and quick information should be given to all visitors. Calling the scheme a lifeline for poor and needy patients, he said its proper execution depends on vigilance and active efforts from all departments.
