New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare organised a health screening camp and an interactive session for sanitation workers at Kartavya Bhawan-1 under Special Campaign 6.0, highlighting the importance of their health, dignity and contribution to maintaining clean workplaces.

Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, visited the camp and interacted with sanitation workers to enquire about their well-being. He appreciated their dedicated efforts in keeping the ministry premises clean and hygienic. Director General of Health Services Dr L.G. Krishna was also present.

What Health Services Were Provided at the Camp?

The camp offered a range of health assessments to help identify potential medical concerns at an early stage. These included body mass index (BMI) measurements based on height and weight, blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing and haemoglobin checks.

Participants were also provided with general medical consultations, preliminary eye examinations and ear, nose and throat (ENT) check-ups. The initiative aimed to encourage timely detection of health issues among workers responsible for maintaining sanitation.

Jadhav also inspected the ministry’s office premises to review cleanliness and maintenance arrangements, reinforcing the importance of hygiene in government workplaces.

Dialogue Session Encourages Workers to Share Their Concerns

A separate interaction session was led by ministry Joint Secretary Elangbam Robert Singh, who spoke with sanitation workers and thanked them for their services.

He emphasised that cleanliness should not remain confined to special campaigns but should become an integral part of everyday life. The session also gave workers an opportunity to share their experiences, suggestions and concerns, encouraging direct communication between employees and ministry officials.
