On Tuesday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted simultaneous raids at six locations in the state capital, Ranchi. During this operation, which continued from morning until evening, a large amount of cash and documents were reportedly recovered. At the residence of Gunjan Singh, owner of Kanke Resort, located in Global Platinum Apartment, Ranchi-Argora, so much cash was recovered that the ED had to call in a machine for counting. However, the officially confirmed amount of cash recovered has not yet been announced.
Case Linked to Land Scam
According to information, this case is related to land in Chama Mauja in the Kanke area. It is alleged that the nature of this land was changed (from ST to General), fake documents were prepared, and later it was sold at very low prices. Gunjan Singh is accused of tampering with land documents and committing financial crimes by creating fake papers.
Raids Continue at Apartment
Bunty Das, the guard at the apartment where Gunjan Singh resides, stated that officials and police forces entered the apartment around 6:30 a.m. in two vehicles. He said that Gunjan Singh lives on the first floor and he is unaware of what is happening inside.
Operations at Other Locations Too
Apart from Gunjan Singh, ED teams are also conducting raids in other parts of the city. These include Durga Developer, Kanke Resort, Shukla Colony, Ratu Road, and six other locations. The raid is also ongoing at the residence of BK Singh, a close associate of land businessman Kamesh Kumar.
Awaiting Official Statement
This ED operation has created a stir across Ranchi. So far, no official information has been released by the agency. Officials said that details of the cash and documents recovered will be shared once the search and seizure process is complete.
