New Delhi: The weather has suddenly taken a turn in Delhi-NCR. Light to moderate rain was recorded in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and surrounding areas on Friday night, providing relief to people from the heat. However, the Meteorological Department says that this series of rains is not going to stop yet. Rain, strong winds and storms may continue in many states of North India for the next five days.

How will the weather be in Delhi-NCR?

According to IMD, there may be rain and strong winds at many places in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh between June 13 and 17. There will be thunderstorms along with showers in some areas. This means there will be relief from humidity, but in case of bad weather, check the alert once before leaving the house. IMD has advised being cautious in bad weather.

What is the condition of other areas?

UP and Rajasthan Eastern UP: Chance of thunderstorm and rain on June 13. Western UP: Storm and rain from 14 to 17 June. Fear of lightning and strong wind in many places. Rajasthan: Weather will change. Strong winds up to 70 km/h in many parts. There is also a warning of dust storm in eastern and western Rajasthan.

Will the weather change in the hilly state of Uttarakhand too?

Rain, thunderstorm and wind up to 60 km/h till June 13-15. The risk of landslides will increase in the mountains. Himachal: Light to moderate rain from 13-17 June. The weather will be more active on 14-16 June, strong winds will also blow.

What is the condition in MP and Chhattisgarh? 

Rain in Eastern MP from 11 to 17 June, in Western MP Vidarbha from 13 to 17 June. There is also a possibility of occasional lightning. Chhattisgarh: Alert issued for storm, rain and lightning till June 13-15.

How far has the monsoon reached?

South-West Monsoon has currently reached 16 states. Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Goa are receiving good rains. It has reached Bihar and is now moving towards Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, MP, UP. Experts estimate that between June 20-22, monsoon will cover most parts of UP. In between, El Nino activity is also being tracked, which can impact the weather in the future.
