Quenching the thirst of the earth, the monsoon has bid farewell after 117 days. In Dhanbad, the monsoon rains began on June 18. From June to September, the monsoon season brought heavy rainfall. In each of these four months, monsoon clouds brought above-normal rain. Even during the post-monsoon season starting from October 1, returning monsoon clouds caused heavy rainfall. A record of 123 percent more rainfall than normal was recorded in 12 days. On Sunday, the monsoon bid farewell to Dhanbad as well as the entire state of Jharkhand.
According to information released by the Weather Center in Ranchi, the conditions for the monsoon’s departure across Jharkhand are favorable. Even before the monsoon left, the pink chill has begun to make its presence felt. Snowfall effects are visible on the hills. The nights have become cooler, and after Diwali, warm clothes may need to be brought out.
Monsoon expert Dr. S.P. Yadav said that the arrival of western winds is a sign of the monsoon’s departure. The activation of the western disturbance has brought coolness to the weather. Now, clouds moving south may occasionally return, becoming locally strong and causing light rain at times.
Mornings, Afternoons, and Nights Show Different Weather
The city’s weather is now showing different colors from morning to night. The mornings feel as cold as November. Since mid-November, a foggy condition has already started forming. The chill is noticeable in the early hours. During the day, as the sky clears and the sun shines brightly, it feels as warm as April. By evening, the coolness returns, and chilly winds make the nights cold.
