Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a very strict stance to curb the rumors related to the theft of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The government has immediately approved the demand to constitute a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the allegations.

What about the SIT investigation?

The move follows a formal request by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust seeking a government-led investigation into the alleged irregularities.

The government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a transparent and speedy investigation of this entire sensitive matter. This special team will not only find out the ground reality of the rumors but will also expose the faces working behind this propaganda.

Who is included in SIT?

The Uttar Pradesh government has entrusted the investigation to the state’s most experienced and tough officers. The SIT constituted includes the following three members: Vijay Vishwas Pant (IAS – Chairman): Presently Divisional Commissioner of Lucknow, who will chair this entire inquiry committee.
Kiran S (IPS): Inspector General of Police, Range, who will handle the investigation of the criminal, security, and social media rumour police angles of the case.

Neel Ratan (Special Secretary, Finance): As Special Secretary (Finance), he will closely monitor the audit of the temple, the counting process of donation boxes, and the technical aspects of financial transactions.

The panel has reportedly been asked to submit a preliminary report within seven days and a final report within 15 days.

The alleged embezzlement from temple donation boxes came to light about a week ago, prompting the trust to initiate an internal probe.
