Delhi BMW Accident: A big update has come out in the Delhi BMW accident. Police have arrested Gaganpreet, the woman driving the car. It was told that she was taken into custody after interrogation in the hospital. Gaganpreet was on a wheelchair at the time of arrest. This accident happened near Delhi Cantt Metro Station, when a speeding BMW hit a couple riding a bike. In the accident, Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs of the Finance Ministry, Navjot Singh died on the spot, while his wife is seriously injured and is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Investigation has revealed that Gaganpreet was driving the BMW at the time of the accident and her husband was sitting on the seat next to her. The speeding car hit the motorcycle so hard that the bike collided with the divider and got damaged and Navjot Singh died on the spot. Police now suspect that the accused tried to tamper with the medical report after the accident.
FIR against the accused husband and wife
Navjot Singh’s wife Sandeep Kaur has filed an FIR against Gaganpreet and her husband. According to the statement recorded in the FIR, after the accident, instead of taking Navjot and his wife to a nearby hospital, they were taken to New Life Hospital, about 20 kilometers away. Police say that accused Gaganpreet’s father is a partner in this hospital and this was the reason why the injured were taken there.
Suspicion of tampering with medical reports
Delhi Police suspects that the injured were taken to this hospital with the intention of influencing the medical report. This is why the police has also added the section of tampering with evidence in this case.
‘Why didn’t you take him to a nearby hospital?’ – son’s statement
Navjot Singh’s son alleged that after the accident, instead of taking his parents to a nearby hospital, they were taken about 22 kilometers away. He said that my mother had a head injury, she was wearing a helmet, yet her thigh bone broke. She should have been taken to a nearby hospital immediately.
Eyewitness cab driver’s revelation
An important witness in this case, cab driver Gulfam, has come forward. He said that I was coming from Dhaula Kuan, when I saw that there was chaos on the road and people were lying on the ground. I parked my car on the side and went to help. The woman Gaganpreet told me to go towards Azadpur. She was talking to someone on the phone and was telling me to be ready, she did not tell me which hospital to go to.
Police investigation continues
The police have seized the BMW car involved in the accident. The forensic team and the crime branch have collected evidence from the spot. Along with this, the investigation is proceeding on the basis of CCTV footage and witness statements. The accused husband and wife are currently in police custody and the case is being thoroughly investigated.
