Delhi woman arrested for acid attack on boyfriend’s to-be-bride

In the Gokalpuri area of ​​North-East Delhi, a young woman attacked her lover’s would-be bride by allegedly throwing acid due to a love affair. The police took immediate action and arrested the 26-year-old accused woman.

What did the police say?

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashish Mishra, upon receiving information about the incident, the team reached Indira Vihar, where it was learned that the 21-year-old victim had been admitted to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. Her condition is being monitored.

According to investigation, the victim’s marriage was fixed with a young man, while the accused woman was already in a love relationship with the same young man. Displeased with the marriage, she committed the crime.

The police have registered a case and are also investigating where the accused got the acid from.

What is the reason of attack?

Initial investigation revealed that the victim’s wedding was scheduled for Sunday, April 19. It is being reported that the accused woman was having an affair with the man she was supposed to marry. Therefore, she took this horrific step.

When did the incident happen?

Police said the accused woman attacked the victim with acid while she was preparing for a mehndi ceremony at home. Her family rushed her to the hospital, where she remains in critical condition. An FIR was registered at the Gokalpuri police station under Section 124(1) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Family members and local residents have demanded strict and swift action against the accused. Police have arrested the accused woman. Further investigation is underway.
