New Delhi: The picture is gradually becoming clear in the Indian market regarding Hyundai’s new SUV Bayon. The company had released design sketches after officially announcing its name in September and now a glimpse of some of the car’s exterior has been shown through a new teaser video. The latest teaser especially reveals the design of the alloy wheel and rear tail lamp. The company is preparing to place it between Venue and Creta in the Indian lineup. Hyundai has not yet shared the exact launch date, price and complete technical information, but reports say that its entry will be around October.
How different did the alloy wheel look in the new teaser?
The alloy wheel seen in the new video seems to be trying to differentiate the design of BAYON from other Hyundai models. Sharp geometric patterns and machine-cut finish are seen in it. However, the company has not yet confirmed its exact size. Some auto reports have suggested the possibility of 16 or 17 inch wheels. Even during testing, alloy wheels with different designs of the car have been seen.
How will the new SUV look from the rear?
The teaser also gives a glimpse of the rear part of Bayon. Newly designed LED tail lamps are visible in it. The test models and design sketches revealed earlier also gave many hints regarding the lighting setup of the car. Hyundai has used its new Art of Steel design philosophy in the design of this SUV, which will have sharp character lines, strong body shape and a more SUV-like stance.
Where will Bayon fit between Venue and Creta?
The BAYON is expected to slot in between the Venue and Creta in Hyundai’s Indian SUV range. The company is presenting it not just as a new SUV but as an intelligent utility vehicle. According to Hyundai, its focus will be on the combination of urban use, technology and practicality. The model ready for India may differ from the global BAYON in terms of design and proportions.
What will the cabin of Bayon be like from inside?
The first glimpse of the cabin has also been seen in the design sketch released by Hyundai. In this, a two-screen setup is visible on the dashboard. Apart from this, three-spoke steering wheel, newly designed center console, wireless charging pad and vertical AC vents are seen on both sides of the dashboard.
Based on testing and reports, there is also a possibility of features like 360-degree camera, sunroof, connected car technology and ADAS. However, the company will clarify the final list of all these features according to the variants later.
What is the information regarding engine and CNG?
Hyundai has not yet officially released complete information regarding the powertrain of BAYON. Auto industry reports suggest a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a factory-fitted CNG option. Manual and automatic transmission is expected to be available with petrol engine.
There is also discussion about CNG version, but its gearbox and technical specifications have not been confirmed by the company yet. Therefore, this information should be seen only as a possible specification for now.
When will the new Hyundai SUV arrive in India?
Hyundai has officially revealed the initial details related to the name and design of BAYON. The company has said that it will be introduced in the upcoming festive season. Many auto reports have suggested a possible launch around October 2026, but the official launch date and price have not been announced yet. In the coming days, the company may release other information related to its engine, features, variants and price.
