Nagpur: A 24-year-old woman, who is married to an Indian Air Force officer, in Nagpur has accused three men of raping her after being administered an intoxicating substance, blackmailing using obscene videos and forcing her to undergo a religious conversion ceremony in Maharashtra’s Nagpur.
What is the case?
The victim, who is the wife of an armed forces personnel, has filed a police complaint. She alleged that she was raped and then forced to eat meat and sexually assaulted.
In the viral video, a visibly distressed woman can be seen repeatedly pleading, “Chhodo mujhe” (“let me go”), while a man identified as Ayyaz Taj Madare appears to hold her hand and recite religious verses.
The arrested accused have been identified as Ayyaz Taj Madare, 26, and his alleged associate, Ameen Shaikh, 30. The third accused, Hazrat Maulana, a resident of Tamia village in Chhindwara district, Madhya Pradesh, remains at large.
What did the police say?
Police said that the victim has alleged in the FIR that Ayyaz repeatedly brought some liquid in a plastic bottle, forced her to drink it, made her read something in Urdu, blew something on her face and raped her in the name of hypnotism and black magic.
According to the FIR, Ayyaz befriended the woman under the pretext of helping a friend buy property. It is alleged that during their meeting at a hotel on February 8, 2025, he spiked her drink, causing her to faint. When she regained consciousness, he allegedly took photos and recorded videos of her in compromising positions.
Did the accuse blackmail the victim?
The complainant further alleged that these recordings were used to blackmail her, threatening to make the material viral and send it to her husband. Over a period of time, the accused allegedly extorted approximately Rs 4 lakh from her.
In another incident on May 31, Ayyaz and his accomplice took her to Kalmeshwar, where Hazrat Maulana allegedly performed some rituals and made her say ‘Kabool Hai, Kabool Hai’ as part of the conversion process.
Did they convert the woman?
The woman alleged that she was forced to engage in these activities against her will. She further stated that the Maulana later announced her conversion to Islam and her marriage to Ayyaz, after which she was forcibly fed meat. They then took her to a hotel where Ayyaz raped her.
She also alleged that the accused continued to visit her home and sexually assaulted her several times thereafter. The woman, who works in the property business, initially did not report the incidents out of fear. She later informed her husband and contacted the Sonegaon police, where an FIR was registered.
Sections of the law against superstition and black magic have also been included in the case. Police have arrested two accused in this case, while the third is absconding.
