Major Boost for Ludhiana: First Flight from Delhi Arrives at Halwara; Prominent Leaders, Including Ravneet Bittu, Become the First Passengers

Ludhiana. Finally, direct air connectivity between Ludhiana and the national capital, Delhi, has commenced. An atmosphere of palpable excitement prevailed among passengers and locals as the inaugural flight—which departed from Delhi on Friday morning—touched down at Halwara Airport. Union Minister of State for Railways, Ravneet Bittu, arrived specifically to be a part of this historic flight. He was accompanied by Rajya Sabha members Vikramjit Sahney and Rajinder Gupta.

The inaugural flight carried several prominent passengers from Ludhiana, as well as senior leaders of the district BJP unit. Reports indicate that approximately 55 passengers traveled on this first flight. For a long time, the people of Ludhiana had been demanding direct air connectivity. With the launch of this service, the “Industrial City” is now expected to receive a significant boost.

Flight Welcomed at the Airport

Upon the arrival of the inaugural flight at Halwara Airport, the passengers were accorded a warm welcome. People hailed this event as a historic moment for Punjab, and particularly for Ludhiana. This service is considered to be of immense significance in terms of trade and industrial activities. Industrialists and business owners have expressed that the establishment of direct air links with Delhi will inject fresh momentum into trade, investment, and travel.

Union Minister of State Ravneet Bittu remarked that this is not merely an air service, but rather a new beginning for the development of Ludhiana. He stated that in the near future, the scope of this air service would be further expanded to ensure that people can also access direct connectivity to other major cities across the country. He added that the public had been awaiting this facility for a long time, and now, that dream has finally come true.

Two Daily Flights to Operate

Two flights will operate daily between Delhi and Halwara. The first flight—designated AI 481—will depart from Delhi at 5:55 AM and arrive in Halwara at 7:05 AM. On its return leg, flight AI 482 will take off from Halwara at 7:55 AM and land in Delhi at 9:10 AM.

The second flight—designated AI 483—will depart from Delhi at 12:55 PM and arrive in Halwara at 2:10 PM. Subsequently, AI 484 will depart from Halwara at 2:40 PM and arrive in Delhi at 3:55 PM. This air service will operate seven days a week, providing passengers with regular connectivity.
