Bangkok: A shooting at a school in Thailand on Friday left several people dead and at least 15 others injured. The incident took place at Debsirin School in Nonthaburi, near the Thai capital, Bangkok. According to police sources, the suspected gunman was a student enrolled at the school.
Where did the incident take place?
As per Poh Teck Tung Foundation volunteers, the incident occurred at around 10 am (local time) at the popular secondary school. The students and teachers had to flee the premises as the students opened fire at the school premises.
How many people have died?
Lt. Col. Pasakorn Chaitawiwong, head of the Plai Bang subdistrict police department, added that the number of deaths remains unknown, although according to The Bangkok Post and Thai Enquirer, at least two deaths have been confirmed.
The police officials stated that the gunman took his own life with an apparent self-inflicted wound. Further investigations are being conducted to shed light on the matter.

Videos featuring the students released by the emergency services team show an ambulance heading to the school as the students run out of the doors. The event was also broadcast live on social media and is now trending across the web, although security is requesting not to broadcast the event.
