UGC-NET Paper Leak Row: Education Ministry Orders Probe Into Sociology Exam, Say Sources

New Delhi: Following allegations of a paper leak in the UGC-NET June 2026 examination, the government has ordered an investigation, according to sources. The development comes just weeks after the controversy surrounding the NEET-UG exam. Fresh claims have emerged alleging that the UGC-NET June 2026 Sociology question paper was leaked before the examination. Reports circulating on social media claim that a 100-page PDF containing around 90 questions matching the actual exam paper was shared ahead of the test.

Was the paper being sold for Rs 2.25 lakh?

Reports also claim that this alleged question paper was being sold in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan for approximately Rs 2.25 lakh. Following the incident, the Ministry of Education directed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to investigate the allegations, according to sources. Sources indicate that the ministry has ordered a detailed investigation into the matter. However, an official statement from the NTA has not yet been released.

What did Rahul Gandhi say?

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, shared a report on the social media platform X, claiming that a 100-page PDF containing question paper preparation information, which was supposed to be kept securely with the NTA, was leaked before the exam.

According to the report, approximately 90 questions from that PDF were asked in the UGC-NET Sociology exam.

Even before the paper leak allegations surfaced, several candidates who appeared for the June 30 UGC-NET examination had taken to social media to report errors in the Sociology paper.
