New Delhi: The Central District Police organised a Sampark Sabha at Satyagraha Mandap near Gandhi Smriti, Rajghat, providing police personnel an opportunity to raise their workplace and administrative concerns directly with senior officers. The event also recognised 72 personnel for their outstanding contributions to the investigation and detection of eight major cases over the past 45 days.

Around 329 police personnel attended the gathering, which concluded with a community lunch aimed at strengthening coordination, mutual respect and camaraderie within the police force.

Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Zone-I, Devesh Srivastava, and Joint Commissioner of Police, Central Range, Madhur Verma, were among the senior officials present. DCP Central District Rohit Rajbir Singh welcomed the dignitaries by presenting them with saplings. Additional DCPs, ACPs, station house officers and other police personnel also attended the programme.

Why Did Senior Officers Emphasise Sensitivity in Police Work?

Addressing the gathering, Special CP Devesh Srivastava appreciated the personnel for managing challenging law-and-order responsibilities alongside their routine duties. He emphasised that since police officers interact directly with the public, every complaint and criminal case must be handled with sensitivity, honesty and professionalism.

He also stressed that citizens must receive equal treatment irrespective of their age, religion, colour or gender.

Srivastava encouraged greater use of the e-HRMS system, body-worn cameras at sensitive locations and effective monitoring of CCTV cameras installed at police stations. He also shared information about the proposed plan to establish 500 police booths across Delhi.

Recognising the contribution of women police personnel, he directed officials to ensure essential facilities, including water coolers, televisions, microwaves and other necessary amenities, at police stations.

72 Personnel Recognised for Outstanding Investigations

One of the major highlights of the event was the recognition of 72 police personnel who played significant roles in investigating and solving eight important cases during the previous 45 days.

Their efforts in conducting investigations, making arrests and securing recoveries were appreciated by senior officers. Joint CP Madhur Verma also encouraged personnel to maintain discipline, professional conduct and a strong sense of responsibility while performing their duties.

Staff Grievances Heard and Pending Issues Reviewed

The Sampark Sabha also provided a platform for police personnel to present their departmental and administrative grievances before senior officers.

Issues that could be resolved immediately were addressed during the meeting, while the remaining matters were forwarded to the concerned departments for further action. Officials also reviewed the progress made on concerns raised during the previous Sampark Sabha.

The programme concluded with a community lunch, where senior officers and police personnel shared a meal, reinforcing the spirit of teamwork, mutual understanding and unity within the Central District Police.
