October is celebrated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This month, everyone is made aware about breast cancer.

2.3 lakh cases are reported every year

Statistics show that there are 2.3 lakh cases of breast cancer in India. One in 28 women faces this cancer at some point in their lives. Less than 30 percent of cases in India are detected in the early stages, when the chances of recovery are highest.

October Breast Cancer Awareness Month has been celebrated worldwide since 1985. Under this program, women are educated about breast cancer. Often, women are reluctant to discuss it openly. Keeping this in mind, the decision has been made to organize this event. It is hoped that it will send a positive message to the public.

According to reports, “Breast of Luck” was written by Tannishtha Chatterjee and Sharib Hashmi, who also star in the film. It was directed by Leena Yadav. The play is based on personal experiences and tells the story of two people battling cancer.

Shows have been held in many cities

According to reports, Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das have supported the show. The music is by Manav Poddar, the lyrics are by Swanand Kirkire, and the choreography is by Ashley Lobo. The show has been houseful in Mumbai, Lucknow, Indore, Bhopal, and the India Habitat Centre in Delhi. Now, the show is set to take place in Gurugram.

The show is based on cancer Awareness

“Breast of Luck” brings together two of India’s most respected artists. This show is as much about cancer as it is about human connection. Tannishtha Chatterjee, known for her stellar work in films and theatre, and Sharib Hashmi, a favourite with audiences across the country, present a story that is fun, true and heart-warming.

Tannishtha started writing the play when she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and Sharib wrote it as a real person caring for his wife who is battling cancer for the sixth time.
