Delhi residents are facing extra costs while traveling within the city due to a newly set-up toll plaza. Even short trips inside the city now require paying toll tax, causing frustration among commuters. The toll affects routes from North and Outer Delhi to Dwarka, the airport, and Gurugram. Many people have called it an unfair financial burden, while the Khap has issued a 360-day ultimatum to revoke the toll. Villagers in nearby areas have also protested, demanding that toll collection within a 60-kilometer travel range be stopped immediately.

Near Bakarpur village in Delhi, the Mundka-Bakarpur Toll Plaza has been established on UER-2 (Urban Extension Road-II). This toll is putting a strain on people’s pockets, as travelers must now pay tax even for journeys within the city. Anyone heading towards Najafgarh, Mundka, Bakarpur, Dwarka, or IGI Airport, or traveling from Delhi to Gurugram, has to pass through this toll plaza and pay the fees.

Toll Charges

For light motor vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans, a one-way trip at the Mundka-Bakarpur toll plaza costs ₹235, while two trips in a single day will cost ₹350. For daily commuters, a monthly pass is available at ₹7,765. Light commercial vehicles and mini buses have to pay ₹375 for a one-way trip and ₹565 for round trips, with a monthly pass priced at ₹12,545.

Monthly Pass Options for Larger Vehicles

Double-decker buses and trucks are charged ₹790 for a one-way trip and ₹1,185 for the return journey. Their monthly pass costs ₹26,285. For three-wheeler commercial vehicles, one-way toll is ₹860 and return toll is ₹1,290, with a monthly pass available for ₹28,675.
