Vrindavan: Police in Vrindavan conducted a special traffic enforcement drive on Thursday, issuing challans to 40 two-wheeler riders for violating traffic rules. The campaign was carried out in Chaitanya Vihar and Rukmini Vihar under the Keshav Dham police outpost area.

The operation was conducted by the local police station under the direction of Station House Officer Ashwini Kumar. Some riders who were found violating rules were let off with warnings.

Helmet and Document Checks Conducted

During the drive, police personnel stopped two-wheeler riders to check helmet use and vehicle-related documents. Those found violating traffic regulations faced action under the Motor Vehicles Act. Officers also advised riders to follow traffic rules and adopt safe driving practices.

Why Has Police Intensified Traffic Enforcement?

SHO Ashwini Kumar said police had received complaints about motorcycle riders frequently violating traffic rules in the city. The checking drive was launched to curb such violations and improve road discipline.

Daily Checks Planned Ahead of Festivals

Kumar said the campaign would continue in the coming days. In view of the upcoming festivals, all police outpost in-charges have been instructed to set a daily schedule for vehicle checking. The aim is to maintain smooth traffic movement and take action against those who disregard road safety regulations.
